Feel Better Soon! A Virtual Get Well Card :)

So, I talk to my mom every Sunday & even still she says the only way she knows what I’m up to is by following my blog. As most of you know, she had surgery today to fix her broken wrist :( She broke it last December, but it never healed right & she’s been dealing with the incredible inconvenience of not being able to use her arm/hand fully. It’s been a long road, but thankfully she found a doctor who could help! Thank you to everyone on Twitter & Facebook for all your well wishes & thoughts! It’s overwhelming for me (and my mom!) to think that people we’ve never met are so nice to stop & wish her well.

Just one mention that I was thinking about my mom today & there was amazing support!

You Can Just Go Away Now…

…Summer. I am so over you. I want boots and scarves back. I want my car to not be 127 degrees (not exaggerating) when I get in it. I want apple crisp, cider and bonfires…

…oh leaves… I miss the Fall weather in the Midwest. Wanna know what’s sad? I am excited it’s supposed to only be in the mid 90′s this weekend. Brrrrrrrrr!! Last year I forced Midwestern traditions by going to a pumpkin patch & corn maze in Queen Creek, AZ. Even carved a pumpkin that met it’s demise on my balcony because of the heat.

TUESDAY SHOESDAY | Baby Girl Edition

EEEKKKK! This is a very special Tuesday Shoesday – I am overflowing with excitement!!! I just found out that my BFF is going to have a little girl!! Leave it to etsy to have a fabulous assortment of li’l bugga shoes – just look at these creations by sugarplumbtree! I mean, it’s just silly how cute they are!

So stinkin’ adorable! Any little one would be lucky to have these on their feeties!

New House for Kristen = Housewarming Party!

I wanted to give a little shout out to my sister, Kristen, because she is getting the keys to her first house today!!! It’s been a looooong process & it hasn’t been easy. I am so excited that it’s FINALLY hers! It was like a bad episode of an HGTV show. I told her I can’t wait to help decorate my – I mean – HER house ;) It’ll probably be a while before she really starts to think about paint colors (Swatchbooks? I’ve got some!) but what we can focus on is a fabulous housewarming party!! I’ve been dying use all the ideas I’ve soaked up from the blogs I read everyday. She’s already had to reel me in a few times when I started talking about mini grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup shooters…I’m excited OKAY!? I did find a tutorial for felt garland on Purlbee and WE BOTH love it :) Thought I’d share, as this would be great for weddings, especially above a dessert table – and hey, you can reuse it!

Magpie’s Cake

One of my favs on Twitter, Nicole at Niche White Bridal Loft, just did a post about local vendors in the DC area and now I’m obsessed with these cakes! I don’t usually gush about cakes, there’s only been this cake and now these. I describe beautiful cakes like they are fashion – ex: “I want a dress that looks like that cake!!” Sometimes they are so incredibly stunning it looks like you could wear them! So with that, take in these gorgeous works of art by Magpie’s Cake.
