I love a bright, colorful wedding as much as the next person, but I am 100% a believer in neutral color schemes. I think it goes back to the idea of “less is more” – there’s just something so beautiful about the absence of color. For this bride, adding a touch of blush pink and soft yellow just completed this look of understated elegance.

Way obsessing over the table settings. They are so gorgeous!!

Your Nose Never Forgets Your Wedding Day

I happen to pride myself on my keen ability to pinpoint EXACTLY what a smell is. It’s an odd talent, but when you have it, my oh my is it impressive. Woohoo! A party trick! No? I use it every day in the office around lunchtime – “It smells like a pepperoni hot pocket!” “Someone is having one of those Campbell’s Chunky soups!” “Who made popcorn? It smells like Target!” …I should get a booth at a carnival.
But in all seriousness, scent is a powerful thing.
It can trigger a flood of memories about an exact time, place, emotion or person. Casinos do it with mood-lifting tropical scents, real estate agents do it with the cozy smell of fresh baked cookies. It’s so powerful, it’s even used in marketing & branding. Why do you think Abercrombie & Hollister pump their come-hither-surfer-l’odeur through those vents? It’s like their logo. It gets on your clothes, you won’t forget them.
So with all that being said, have you thought about what perfume you are going to wear on your wedding day? There are two routes to go. Either seek out a special perfume or go with the one you wear every day. I sort of like the idea of getting a new one just for your big day because I guarantee, you & your new husband will remember it as being special – something to wear on your anniversaries.
What are your thoughts? What did you/will you do?

You’re overwhelmed. You’re searching for answers – the right, perfect, easy answers. The tough love: big business isn’t easy. Nothing great is supposed to be. If it was, how would we grow? How would we realize our full potential if we weren’t stretched and challenged? You were made to move: dance, leap, sing, love, shoot, make, hug it out, paint, create, write, shake it, build it and use all you’ve got! You were not put on this earth to hide behind your computer and wait for opportunity. You were made to CREATE it. In life and business, you have to invest to make things happen. The timing will never be perfect. I repeat: the timing will never be perfect. Do not keep going on the path you are on if you know it’s wrong. This is the only life you get. This moment is all you really KNOW you have. Deep down, you know that. You have everything you need right now to do what’s on your heart. Why live in fear of what other people think? The bigger question: How many people are missing out on what you have to give them by you waiting? What’s going to be different tomorrow? You are going to make mistakes. Loads of them. But, remember: there are no mistakes, only lessons. It’s your choice… stay stuck OR get a move on. The kicker: your reward for feeling the fear and doing it anyway is the unmistakable joy of living your life instead of renting it. That is worth leaping for.
Love, Lara
