Whip It Up Over the Weekend | Spiked Apple Cider


Spiked Apple Cider
makes 2 cocktails

 

1 cup apple cider
2 cinnamon sticks
4 oz bourbon
1 Tablespoon cinnamon sugar

 

1 | Warm the cider on the stovetop with the cinnamon sticks until it’s reduced to about half a cup. This should take about 15 minutes over low heat.
2 | Pour the cinnamon sugar on a plate. Just barely dip the rim of your glasses in the cider, then dip it in the sugar.
3 | Add the 2 oz bourbon to each glass and top with the cider.
4 | Garnish each glass with a cinnamon stick and enjoy!

Whip It Up Over The Weekend | S’mores Baked Apple

What if………you could combine the best Fall treats into ONE dessert? That’d be awesome, right??

 

Enter the S’mores baked apple.

I saw this recipe on Cooking With My Kid via Foodgawker and it sounds and looks friggin delicious. I will definitely have to try this!

S’mores Baked Apple

 

Prep Time: 10 mins Cooking Time: 45 mins

 

1 granny smith or gala apple
1 s’mores treat (Available at Trader Joe’s) coarsely chopped
(alternatively use 1/2 graham cracker crumbled + 5 or 6 chocolate chips)
1 large marshmallow

 

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Core apple leaving the bottom intact. Peel 1/3 of the skin from the top of the apple. Stuff apple with the s’mores treat leaving room at the top to push a marshmallow in. Push one marshmallow into the apple and place standing up in a small baking dish. Pour some water into the bottom of the baking dish (about 1/2 inch) and bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender but not mushy. Split open and serve warm
